Class Description
Within this class, participants will engage in the fundamentals, theories, and philosophy of the Dunham Technique created by dance pioneer Katherine Dunham. Participants will learn to identify the aesthetic principles of the Dunham Technique and develop physical and artistic skills such as explicit body isolation, articulation of the spine, dancing with a low center of gravity, grounded-ness, polyrhythm, and individuality of movement expression.
