O'Meally's movement practice focuses on risk and renewal, helping participants discover new ways to move and understand their bodies. Through guided exercises, we’ll explore how the mind and body connect, using movement to unlock greater awareness and possibilities. The practice includes gentle challenges, like contracting, folding, and reaching, allowing us to experience different physical sensations and rhythms. Together, we’ll flow through motion, spirals, improvisation, and momentum, all while being inspired by gravity and music. This class is designed to empower each person to find their unique physical expression, with a focus on joy, laughter, and the endless possibilities of the body.
This contemporary modern dance class emphasizes stamina, endurance, and performance, challenging your physical and artistic capacities through rigorous sequencing and durational movement phrases. All Hail The Creatives is casting for upcoming projects and their mentorship program for pre-professional artists looking for company experience. They are currently seeking dancers who exhibit exceptional endurance, stamina, and performance quality.
Umfundalai is a dynamic contemporary African dance technique developed by Dr. Kariamu Welsh, rooted in the rich traditions of the African diaspora. The word 'Umfundalai' means "essence" or "essential" in Kiswahili, and the technique reflects this by drawing from various African and diasporic dance forms to create a movement language that honors ancestral rhythms and cultural expression. In this class, dancers will explore a wide range of movements, from grounded and rhythmic footwork to fluid and expansive gestures, all while connecting with the essence of African diasporic traditions. Through practice, students will develop strength, coordination, and a deeper understanding of the cultural significance embedded within the movements. This technique emphasizes the joy and power of collective movement, offering a holistic and empowering dance experience.
